The Power of Partnership in Parenting

By Nate D. Long, Head of School

Walking the Parenting Journey Together

I think we all can agree that parenting is difficult at times. When I was a child, I couldn't understand some of the decisions my parents made for me and my siblings. I now seem to have a better understanding of those same struggles, this time from a different perspective. One thing I do know is that my parents had support. They had a core group of friends from church and school who traveled the parenting journey with them. This is one of the reasons I appreciate LCCS as a parent. I know I have a supportive group to talk to as we parent together.

Our number one priority with our children is to raise them in the truth of God's Word. My prayer is that my three children know Jesus personally, give their lives to Him as Lord and Savior, love Him deeply, and make Him known to others. Obviously, scripture calls us to do this in Deuteronomy 6, but we also know that this transformation is the work of the Holy Spirit in their lives.

One of our goals at LCCS is to provide opportunities for our parents to grow in this calling. Moms in Prayer and Lion Dads Connection are two of the opportunities you have to connect with other parents throughout the school year.

Gracefully,

Nate
